Happy Belated Earth Day! Or is it?

Updated: May 3

If you are like me, a small business owner, always looking for new clients, you have either hired someone or picked up a few marketing books to help keep your business visible and going. However, large brands, some of those we hear about daily, have marketing teams to help keep the public hooked on their products, and yes, hooked. It's incredible how they can influence the consumer, you, and me by getting us to buy products we sometimes don't need or maybe replacing things that still have value, not just to us anymore. A couple of weeks ago, I came across a documentary that really helped put my shopping habits on pause and made me look at all the material things in my life. It made me wonder where all of this stuff will end up. Where will everything we create, use, discard, and forget about end up? If you have any concerns about the future of our planet or our families, you need to watch this documentary. Think Wall-E. If you haven't seen that movie, think of the Earth as a trash can and what's left of humanity on a space station. If we don't change something quickly, that is precisely where humans will end up, but I would rather live on Earth. Watch both of them, the documentary Buy Now: The Shopping Conspiracy and Wall-E, the movie. You won't regret it. You may, too, change your buying habits.
