This novel had me so engrossed with its vivid descriptions, its lovable and loathsome characters, that I found myself time after time transported to the world of the intriguing families. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I cannot wait for the next novel by Dilsa Saunders Bailey.

Best Read I've Had In a Very Long Time!, November 4, 2009

It has been a very long time since I've stolen moments from life's hectic run to just sit for hours and read a good novel. Dreams Thrown Away took me on a roller coaster journey in the life of so many interesting characters. It has also been the hottest topic at the water cooler since it was published.

Thank you Dilsa Bailey for taking us away from those awful reality shows and back to our wonderful imaginations in a world better than TV or the movies!!

Can't wait until the sequel arrives.

Not your Grandmother's romance novel!, October 28, 2009

Dilsa Saunders Bailey has given us a provocative novel that reminds us that every knight-in-shining-armor has rusty spots here and there. She cleverly paints a picture of all the characters, illustrating that no one is truly all good or all bad. The story is a highly entertaining coming-of-age romance with an original twist. Full of love, lust, heartache and surprises right up to the last chapter, it will hold your interest to the end. I await the sequel, reading glasses in hand.

The book will leave you begging for a sequel, October 22, 2009

Dreams Thrown Away

The development of the characters make you become personally attached as the story develops, or at least makes you want to be a voyeur into lives and lifestyles that may be so different from which you are accustomed. Unfortunately, the tragedy, heartbreak and losses experienced by the main character many women may relate to, making one wish for the best in life for her. By the end of the book readers will acknowledge, however, those fairytale endings are rarely a reality. In fact the book's ending leaves you with more questions than answers: Are things in life ever what they appear to be? Is the main character's husband who we think he is? Is a father's tearful mourning genuine? Is happiness and wholeness just an illusion? The sequel, and there MUST be a sequel, will answer these questions.

Pleasantly surprised., October 20, 2009

Dilsa Bailey really nailed it in her first novel. What a pleasant surprise. The storyline was atypical, but all the characters were well developed. For the main character, a young girl, to face the challenges she did while still in the throws of adolescence truly showed her strength and determination. I knew she would survive, however, I did expect a somewhat different ending. Overall, I was very satisfied with the book. A great read. Lots of twists and turns. I highly recommend this book to all. Wow!  I can say the book was wonderful.  I did not want to put it down.  It made you want to keep reading to the end.  You never knew what would happen next...every chapter was more exciting then the last.  I am so glad I purchased the book.  Good luck with future writing.

Absolutely loved the book.  Keep the stories coming. Love to see the saga of your characters continue.  Maybe I will miss E. Lynn a little less.

This book provoked so much emotion in me, but I couldn’t put it down.  Some of it just made me so mad, but I wanted to know how everything unfolded.  I couldn’t stop reading.

The characters still haunt me.  My colleagues and I talk about them like they are real people.

I was riveted to the story.  The characters came alive and the plot kept me rooting for Kali.  The book truly was full of suspense and romance.

I love it!!!   I wanted that to happen, but I didn’t really know what to expect at the end.  Needless to say, I didn’t forgive Ashton, but I began to like him again.  I can’t wait to get the next book.  This was really a great book...

Okay Ms Dilsa,  Don't make me wait too long for the next book!!  My mind went from one range of emotion to the next!!!  What a great read.  Just when I thought I had a handle on the storyline, you gave it a new and delicious twist!!!

Much drama and suspense.  I just kept turning the pages wanting to find out more about Kalina aka Kali and her fight to overcome the dominance of a powerful and wealthy family.  She kept it together through all the tragedy by staying in school at the top of her class.  I can't wait for the sequel...
